Great place to make your Deer Valley skiing base camp, especially during CoVid! Here's why:
- 286 steps to slopes (yes I counted!) and they were mostly flat which is a bonus.
- DV resort has ski storage as a courtesy, so the quick walk was even easier.
- Private hot tub; especially nice in CoVid times
- Plenty of bathrooms and hot water and towels, and comfy beds
- I also loved the personalized access codes created for our group; we got in late from SLC airport (45 min rental car drive away) and we didn't need to check in with any receptionist or other building that has a key like so many other properties that are in a ski resort.
- Waiting for us in the fridge was some cold beer, cheese, sausage, wine, and bake your own cookies; a really nice touch!
- WiFi that actually worked and a smart TV that we could easily Airplay content.
What I wish( that the host can't control) is that the ski village had more restaurants and coffee shops open during CoVid, but I understand why they weren't open. It meant we had to make the morning coffee and pastry, which the kitchen was stocked all up for. Also a nearby grocery or bodega in the village would have been nice. Because there was so little in terms of food available nearby, plan on driving into town to get supplies/dine (5 min drive) or taking the bus which stops right outside the front door, or have a food delivery group lined up (the host has info on suggestions for this.)
A great experience. I highly recommend.
