The retreat you choose may offer a regulation sized pool table with colorful felt, inviting you to show off the “hustling skills” you picked up during your college days, or it may offer a felt table of another sort, a poker table that comes complete with packs of cards, chips, and all the mugs you need to enjoy frosty beers while teaching your children the finer points of Texas Hold ‘em. Some homes may offer arcade games, foosball tables, and video game consoles, while others may feature a ping pong table that will provide hours of wholesome family fun. Each space we offer is different from the other, and you will soon decide that different is good!

Of course, our Sun Valley sanctuaries will come with more than game rooms, a whole lot more, or you wouldn’t even consider us for your vacation accommodation needs. The first thing you may notice when stepping inside the front door for the first time may have nothing to do with material items and everything to do with how our spaces make you feel. Take the first few seconds to do an inventory of your physical and emotional being. Do you feel your shoulders loosening, are the loud noises in your brain beginning to soften, and do you find yourself feeling instantly “at home?” That, dear guests, is the Abode Sun Valley difference, and this journey we are about to take you on will enhance all those desirable feelings.

Cozy Comforts in Our Sun Valley Places to Stay

When designing a vacation rental, we feel that comfort should come first, and as you walk through the spaces that you will call home, you will see (and feel) the effort we have put into making you feel at home. Living rooms are meant to be lived in, and they will be as comfortable as they are charming, offering plush sofas covered in the finest of fabrics, fireplaces that are either wood burning or electric, and wood or tile floors with throw rugs that feel soft beneath bare feet. Cozy is the name of the game in these beautiful rooms, while modern amenities will remind you that we are firmly entrenched in the 21^st century. There may not be a lot of art on the walls, simply because there aren’t a lot of walls; open concept floor plans eliminate many walls, and windows that stretch from floor to ceiling allow the scenery outside to double as art for those living inside.

Gourmet Kitchens

Comfort is key, but so is modern convenience, and if you decide you want to create a few meals, saving a little extra money that can be put toward future vacations, our kitchens will make the work involved feel like it isn’t work at all! These kitchens feature gas ranges with big names attached to their front and large refrigerators that will hold all the food you couldn’t stop yourself from buying during your visit to the Ketchum Farmers Market. Some may have wine refrigerators which you can fill with purchases from the Sun Valley Wine Company/Wine Shop, others may offer blenders with which you will create frothy beverages to sip as the sun sets, and all have the most important kitchen appliance of all: a large dishwasher! Speaking of sipping, some of our Sun Valley rentals will also offer wet bars equipped with a variety of glasses, a blender and/or wine refrigerator (if not in the kitchen), and all you need to do is provide the alcohol!

Shall We Play a Game?

In addition to the game rooms or game tables, some Abode Sun Valley retreats will also offer a selection of board games and/or puzzles, giving guests more ways to play together. Spread out the pieces of a large puzzle on one end of the dining room table and use the other end for dining and playing Monopoly on snowy nights in. The chairs that surround our dining room tables are built for comfort so you can enjoy a marathon gaming session without feeling numb and achy. Our dining rooms are where some of your favorite memories will be made, and when you look back on this Idaho vacation of a lifetime, you won’t have any regrets.

The Outside Is as Fun as the Inside

In the winter months you may not be interested in family barbecues or sitting out on snow-covered patio chairs, sipping frozen margaritas and chatting as the sun sets and the moon rises, but you may want to gather around the fire pit and try to catch snowflakes on your tongue when there is a light flurry. You will also want to spend as much time as possible soaking in bubbling hot tubs (maybe trying to catch even more snowflakes on your tongue!).
